1. Actively Splits One SATA Port into Two Working Ports
Passive Y-cables simply short the signal lines, causing detection failures or controller lockups. This cable includes a PM chip that actively manages the protocol. Benefit: Two drives are usable simultaneously on a single motherboard SATA port - no "one-or-the-other" limitation.
