Product Selling Points
1. ORv3 Compatible - The Open Rack v3 Standard
Open Rack version 3 (ORv3) moves data center power distribution from 12V to 48V/52V, significantly reducing I²R power losses and copper bus bar costs. This cable assembly is designed specifically to ORv3 specifications, ensuring compatibility with OCP-certified racks, power shelves, and IT trays. Benefit: Future-proof your data center infrastructure with open, non-proprietary components.
2. High-Current Capacity - 360A to 1000A+
Standard server power cables are rated for 10-20A. OCP power cables are engineered for rack-level distribution, handling 360A in still air and up to 500A with airflow. Bus bar connections support 1000A+ for entire rack clusters. Benefit: One cable replaces multiple traditional PSU whips, simplifying rack cabling and improving airflow.
3. Flyover® Cabling for 112G/224G Signal Integrity
Traditional PCB traces introduce significant loss at 56G and above. Flyover® copper cable assemblies bypass the motherboard entirely, running directly from chip to chip or chip to front panel connector. Benefit: Achieve longer channel reaches (up to multiple meters) compared to PCB-only routing at 112G PAM4.
4. ±3mm Floating Connector - Misalignment Tolerance
ORv3 racks have mechanical tolerances between the power shelf and the IT tray, especially in mass-produced environments. The floating connector design allows ±3mm movement in X and Y axes while maintaining electrical contact. Benefit: Reduced assembly time and no need for precision rack alignment.
5. Active Optical Options for Rack-to-Rack Links
For distances beyond 3m or between adjacent racks, active optical OCP cables convert electrical signals to light, achieving zero EMI susceptibility and consistent loss at any length. Benefit: Extend high-speed interconnects across rows without signal repeaters
Customization Options
- Application: Power (ORv3) or high-speed data (Flyover®)
- Connector Gender: Plug, receptacle, or bus bar clip
- Cable Length: Custom from 0.5m to 10m (copper) / up to 100m (optical)
- Wire Gauge (Power): 16 AWG to 8 AWG / bus bar thickness
- Floating Tolerance: ±3mm standard, custom available
- Keying Options: Polarized or color-coded to prevent mis-mating
- Material: Standard tin-plated copper or silver-plated (higher conductivity)

Applications
- ORv3 power shelf to IT tray: 52V DC distribution (360A-500A)
- Bus bar connection: Battery backup unit (BBU) to rack power plane (1000A+)
- AC whip to PSU: 3m AC cable from rack PDU to ORv3 power supply
- Chip-to-front panel I/O: 112G/224G PAM4 using Flyover® coppe

Star Reviews From Customers
1.Mike R., Hyper scale Power Lead in Texas
"Deployed 50 racks with ORv3. These 52V power cables from the shelf to the IT trays carry 400A continuous. The floating connectors are forgiving - techs don't need micrometer perfect alignment. Drop-in fit. Bus bar clips maintain <0.2 mΩ even after multiple insertion cycles."
2.Jessie L., Data Center Architect in Virginia
"Switch backplane needed 112G PAM4 ports. Standard PCB trace length limited reach to 12 inches. Flyover® cable assembly gave us 2m reach to the front panel. Consistent SI traces across 1000 units. This should be standard in OCP designs."
3.Sarah K., AI Network Architect in New York
"GPU cluster interconnect. 112G PAM4 chip-to-front panel cables. The 0.9mm pitch high-density connectors gave us 64 lanes per ASIC. Used active optical OCP cable for cross-rack GPU traffic - zero EYE closure at 10m length. Cabling matches OCP NIC 4.0 footprint."
4.Dave P., Rack Integration Manager in Florida
"Mixed vendor ORv3 environment (power shelf from one OEM, IT trays from another). These standardized 52V cables work across both. Floating connector compensated for 2.5mm misalignment in the third-party rack. Less rework, faster deployment."
5.Priya K., Open Compute Contributor in India
"OCP cable spec ensures interoperability. We sourced cable assemblies from different manufacturers - all mated with our ORv3 backplane without modification. The ±3mm float and clear polarization color coding reduced training time for new rack technicians."
